Keep shooting well from three

The three-ball far and away stood as Wisconsin’s most lethal weapon against the Tar Heels Friday night, shooting a collective 50.8% from outside. It came as a surprise for sure given the team’s woeful shooting prior to the matchup, shooting 32.7% during league play, but still a welcome one nonetheless.

Baylor institutes a “no middle” concept with their defense, which often leaves shooters open from outside. Only 26.8% of their opponent’s shots come at the rim, the eight-highest mark in the country.

With numerous opportunities likely to come Wisconsin’s way, the Badgers must take advantage and keep splashing home their attempts from deep. On the year, Brad Davison‘s owns a 39.1 3P%, with D’Mitrik Trice (38%) and Micah Potter (38.8%) nipping at his heels. Swinging the ball around with enough speed and precision to stretch out the Baylor defense, the Badgers should especially look to find those three from deep as often as possible.

Wisconsin shot very hot from the left-wing against UNC, leaving that area as a likely spot for the team to target. Additionally, Trevor Anderson enters as an intriguing sleeper-threat from deep. Anderson averages only 14.4 MPG off the bench, but his three-point percentage stands at an impressive 54.2%.
