Numerous 4/5 Seeds Upset

You didn’t possibly think the only big upset we’d see was Oral Roberts beating Ohio State did you? It is March remember?

There were three other big upsets during the Round of 64 as 13-seed North Texas upset 4-seed Purdue, 12-seed Oregon State upset 5-seed Tennessee, and 13-seed Ohio upset 4-seed and defending national champions Virginia. Yes, the Cavaliers were still the defending national champions.

North Texas outscored Purdue 17-8 in OT to defeat the Boilermakers 78-69 to pick up their first-ever NCAA Tournament win. The Mean Green were led by senior guard Javion Hamlet who had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. Ohio got 11-13-8 from star guard Jason Preston to help defeat Virginia 62-58, while Oregon State dominated Tennessee from start to finish to win 70-56.

While the 4/5 seed upsets are a staple of March Madness, this year was no different. Will North Texas, Oregon State, or Ohio make the Sweet 16 and keep the momentum going, or was this just your normal Round of 64 classic upset?
