Alabama Crimson Tide

The Tide has one of the best offenses to play for in the country and if Kessler is looking to have an all-around offensive game, Coach Nate Oats could be that guy. The team also would have a need for a center on next year’s roster, with Yale transfer Jordan Bruner likely departing. He would join five-star point guard commit, JD Davison, on the roster and keep them as a second-weekend NCAA Tournament team in 2021-22.

Of course, this would depend on what current five-star center target Charles Bediako does. He’s been linked to Alabama for a long time but both Duke and Michigan are also involved. If he opts to pick either of them in the coming weeks, the Tide should take an aggressive swing at the southern-born Kessler.

Arkansas Razorbacks

I kind of have to include Arkansas when it comes to a talented transfer being in the portal. And considering the current success of the program being in the Sweet 16 and likely the Elite 8, they’ll be in position to land any type of top-tier target in the portal that they want. Kessler would actually be the kind of frontcourt talent Coach Eric Musselman doesn’t usually have, which would make the possibilities endless of what this pairing could do.

The Hogs do have 7’3 Cal transfer Connor Vanover and freshman center Jaylin Williams but Kessler has a higher ceiling than either. And while it may be a stretch, Arkansas could play some two-big lineups to counter the bevy of bigs currently in the SEC. One thing we do know for certain is that the staff will reach out.
