Michigan Wolverines

There’s a potential connection between Russell and assistant head coach Phil Martelli from back in the A-10 days. The Wolverines are hoping he can play a leading role in landing the former Ram, as they’re in the market to find a new starting point guard. Both Eli Brooks and Mike Smith are seniors and likely gone in the offseason.

That leaves top-40 commit Frankie Collins, who will be the long-term answer for the program but having a one-year “rental” who will average double figures next year can keep Michigan as a Big Ten and national title contender.

Odds: Good

Nebraska Cornhuskers

It’s another offseason of roster upheaval for the Huskers, already having lost several players to the transfer portal, including leading score Teddy Allen and freshman Elijah Wood. They still have Trey McGowens coming back, along with his brother and five-star freshman Bryce McGowens for next season. As well as Dalano Banton, who led Nebraska in assists last season.

Even with all that said, this team could use as much talent addition as possible, and Russell is a proven offensive weapon. But will he be willing to join one of the worst power conference programs from the past few years? Looking at the other options available, this one is a longshot at best.

Odds: Very Low
