Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks haven’t been able to find a starting point guard for the 2021-22 season now that Marcus Garrett has graduated and moved on. Former five-star prospect Bryce Thompson and  Dajuan Harris had moments but neither looks ready to take over the lead ball-handling duties for next year. And with the shadow of the NCAA and potential sanctions from the recruiting saga over the program’s head, it’ll be hard to add top-tier talent from out of high school.

So it makes sense that Kansas would love to give an opportunity for a mid-major player to experience one of the best basketball programs in the country. And Walker and his strong defense would be a great fit, while still having a big role in the offense. He has three years of eligibility left so even if the worst-case scenario occurs, Walker still can make the Big Dance with the Jayhawks.

Maryland Terrapins

The Terrapins had one of the top trio backcourts in the country, led by Darryl Morsell, Eric Ayaya, and Aaron Wiggins. Morsell is graduating, while the other two are juniors coming off very good seasons of production and could very well at least test the NBA Draft process.

Maryland, who some would say struggled in the portal trying to land transfers last offseason, is clearly being aggressive in making sure they don’t have any issues in the backcourt no matter what Ayaya and Wiggins decide to do. Walker would be a good fit as a starting point guard and can defend at the Big Ten level.
