25. G Zach Nutall – Sam Houston State

2020-21 stats: 19.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.8 apg

The Southland Player of the Year, Nutall was nothing short of fantastic. He opened the season with a career-high 36 points against SMU and was in double figures in all but two games. The 6’3 shooting guard made 37% from three-point range on over six attempts and can score in a variety of ways.

Many southwest programs have expressed interest in the Texas native, including TCU, Georgia, Arkansas, and SMU. He’ll be a solid double-digit contributor where he ends up and his game should be able to translate easier than others.

24. G Jacob Young – Rutgers

2020-21 stats: 14.1 ppg and 3.4 apg

When Geo Baker was out to start the season, Young elevated into a starter and had a huge role in the Scarlet Knights offense, including an 18-point and 10-assist performance against Syracuse. Even when Baker came back, the senior guard still managed to be a consistent double-digit player both on and off the bench.

Young has a chance to go somewhere and be a potential lead guard on a new offense. He may prefer a spot as a point guard but his shooting and off-ball scoring ability may have him as a more natural shooting guard.

23. F Tanner Groves – Eastern Washington

2020-21 stats: 17.2 ppg and 8.0 rpg

Groves went from being a random bench player just a year ago into a dominant big man for the Eagles, winning Big Sky Player of the Year this season. He had several big performances throughout 2020-21 but none bigger than the Round of 64 matchup against Kansas, where Groves went for a career-high 35 points, becoming a natural sensation.

With his brother Jacob Groves also in the portal, there’s a chance that they’re a package deal, which would make Tanner’s destination likely in the mid-major world. They could follow their head coach to Portland or play for another WCC program or in the Mountain West.

22. G Rocket Watts – Michigan State

2020-21 stats: 7.7 ppg and 2.7 apg

The former top-30 prospect had plenty of promise for the Spartans and had a pretty good freshman campaign. Unfortunately, Watts couldn’t take control of the starting point guard position and after the team landed Northeastern transfer guard Tyson Walker, decided to enter the portal.

Watts is a great athlete that plays better off the ball in a combo role, so expect many power conference teams in need of guard to target him. He’ll have to improve on his overall shooting and shot selection if he wants to be an all-league player.

21. F Nate Reuvers – Wisconsin

2020-21 stats: 8.3 ppg and 3.3 rpg

After leading the Badgers in scoring last season, Reuvers took a major step back this year and ended up getting relegated to the bench midway. He’s a 6’11 forward that plays solid defense but his scoring simply died in the past couple of months.

Reuvers may be better served moving down to the Horizon League or other mid-major leagues if he wants to up his pro stock. Or he can be a sound bench contributor at the power conference level. There certainly will be some teams who think they can get the junior version of Reuvers.
