NC State Wolfpack

The Wolfpack already got a victory from the transfer portal with former Providence small forward  Greg Gantt, Jr. joining the team. He’ll be the likely replacement for leading scorer Devon Daniels on the roster. As for Wahab, things are a little more complicated in the frontcourt.

Star forward DJ Funderburk could be testing out the NBA Daft process but looks to be 50/50 as to whether he’ll return. And they already have a starting center on the roster in Mann Bates, who averaged 9.8 ppg and 5.5 rpg this past season. Is Wahab a little better than Bates? Yes. But not too much where he’d want to go there and compete for the starting job, and likely not play as many minutes as he would elsewhere.

Tennessee Volunteers

The Vols frontcourt this past season was a bit disappointing, with the senior trio of John Fulkerson, Yves Pons, and EJ Anosike all underperforming compared to original expectations. Assuming all three move on, there will be a major need for a starting-caliber center to join them for next year, with Wahab arguably the best option they’ll have.

Wahab would also have a nice backcourt to work with if he picked Tennessee. Although Jaden Springer and likely Keon Johnson will be in the NBA Draft, five-star point guard recruit Kennedy Chandler will be joining the team, along with Santiago Véscovi and top-50 freshman wing Jahmai Mashack. Wahab would be joining a very talented team in the SEC and would be the go-to frontcourt option as well.
