Duke, Alabama, and Marquette among options for transfer Noah Gurley
How Noah Gurley fits with the Duke Blue Devils
The Blue Devils have a mid-major transfer this past season in big man Patrick Tape but nobody really thought he was anything more than frontcourt insurance on the roster. Gurley is much more than that, so Duke has to have room for him if not as a starter, then as a 6th or 7th man off the bench. Five-star forward prospect Paolo Banchero is coming in, while former top-50 recruit Henry Coleman is a breakout candidate.
We don’t know if Duke is a true option or just a big name on the list but it won’t matter if top-3 forward prospect Patrick Baldwin Jr. picks the Blue Devils himself, as there would be no minutes available for the former Furman star. But the program knows they need both depth and experience inside and out to be national contenders, so it makes sense to try and land Gurley.
How Noah Gurley fits with the Florida Gators
The Gators have lost plenty of production this offseason with Tre Mann and Scottie Lewis going pro, while Noah Locke transferring out. But they’ve been busy in the transfer portal, landing UMKC transfer guard Brandon McKissic, along with Boston College combo forward CJ Felder.
Florida also has Collin Castleton looking at his NBA Draft stock, and his leaving would be a huge loss for them. So it makes perfect sense why they’re looking at Gurley as a replacement. And even if Castleton came back, he could play the five-spot since Omar Payne also transferred out, while the Furman transfer can play plenty at the four-spot.
