NCAA Basketball: 8 teams that should target North Carolina transfer Garrison Brooks
Arkansas Razorbacks
Brooks is originally from the South, specifically the state of Alabama. But the Crimson Tide just landed top-30 freshman big man Charles Bediako, while the Auburn Tigers are ironically coming after Kessler as well. But one southern-based program that loves transfers is Arkansas, which has already landed three highly-touted players.
They brought in perimeter players Chris Lykes, Au’Diese Toney, and Stanley Umude. Why not add a third ACC transfer in Brooks, who would give them a consistent scoring presence inside. The Razorbacks do have a talented rising sophomore in Jaylin Williams but Brooks has the edge on him in terms of experience and proven scoring ability. That balance could be what’s needed to get Arkansas as the team to beat in the SEC.
Clemson Tigers
The Tigers will be losing star forward Aamir Simms, who was the lone double-digit scorer for the team this past season. There’s a lack of current offensive production for Clemson so Brooks could come in be the featured player, similar as he was as a junior in North Carolina.
Clemson’s defensive scheme and surrounding guards would be a compliment to Brooks and there’s a familiarity with the program since both are in the ACC. If the goal is to play a large role to improve his draft stock but still play for an NCAA Tournament contender, the Tigers would be a nice spot for Brooks to accomplish both.
