16. G Troymain Crosby – Alcorn State Braves

2020-21 stats: 19.1 ppg and 5.4 rpg

He played in just 15 games but the 6’4 guard was consistently a quality scorer this past season, reaching at least 16 points in 13 straight games. And it wasn’t against SWAC competition either, as Crosby went for 23 points against the defensively sound Houston Cougars in the second game of the season.

Crosby isn’t much of a shooter, with just eight made three-pointers on the season. But he’s a tremendous slasher and driver to the basket, with five of the 15 games having at least 10 free throw attempts. If he moves up a level, Crosby can be an effective role player who can score on his own. And being able to do that at a high level is just as important as shooting well.

15. G Devin Askew – Kentucky Wildcats

2020-21 stats: 6.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 2.9 apg

The former top-30 prospect struggled mightily last season, shooting 35% from the field and 28% from three-point range. The 6’3 guard had some moments but overall couldn’t score from the field in any way. In Askew’s defense, the supporting cast wasn’t much help to make him better.

The good news is that Askew showed a great level of toughness to go through the season for Kentucky and the point guard isn’t turnover prone. The last west coast guard to leave Kentucky after his freshman campaign was Johnny Juzang, who became a star at UCLA. Can Askew follow that path?
