Texas Tech guard Mac McClung announced this past week that he would be testing the waters in the NBA Draft again while also entering the transfer portal. In what would be his third school in three seasons, the Virginia native Mac McClung is once again on the move in search of a new home for the upcoming NCAA Basketball season.

Chris Beards’ departure has been followed by a number of players as McClung wasn’t the only player to announce their intentions to transfer. Marcus Santos-Silva, Kyler Edwards, Micah Peavy, and Nimari Burnett have also entered the portal with Peavy and Burnett already finding new homes.

McClung released a list of seven schools last offseason when he transferred from Georgetown and it’s reasonable to assume some of those schools will likely try again for the All-Big 12 guard while there will likely be some new faces in the mix.

McClung had himself a nice junior season averaging 15.5 points and 2.7 rebounds. Perhaps his most notable improvement came on the defensive side of the ball, his efforts this past season earned him a spot on the AP All-Big 12 team as well as the Newcomer of the Year award.

Offensively McClung had 20 games in double digits and 10 games over 20 points, any team looking for an offensive-minded guard should be interested, perhaps his biggest question moving forward is his deep ball. He’s a playmaker with a lot of experience now.

Perhaps the most highly touted transfer in the portal right now, he’s certainly the most well-known, here are eight teams that I could see Mac McClung playing for next season.
