BYU Cougars

After a disappointing loss in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, the BYU roster is still yet to fully take shape for next season. Could coach Mark Pope and the Cougars add Goldwire to the mix?

The Cougars will lose senior guard and second-leading scorer Brandon Averette, but there is still a possibility that leading scorer Alex Barcello will return next season. Aside from those two, however,  BYU will also return guards Trevin Knell, Connor Harding, and Spencer Johnson. There is depth, but where would Goldwire slide in?

If Barcello returns, an addition of Goldwire would give the Cougars both an elite offensive and defensive option in their backcourt. Goldwire would essentially slide in to replace Averette giving BYU once again a backcourt composed of two seniors.

BYU may not be considered the favorite, but I would defiantly say that they are in the mix to land the experienced guard. While the dominoes would have to fall a certain way for it to happen, a potential backcourt of Barcello and Goldwire would be very intriguing, and one of the best in the WCC.
