While the NCAA Transfer Portal has taken center stage so far this offseason, the recruiting trail is still alive and well. In fact, one of the more intriguing recruiting decisions of the offseason is about to happen as one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the Class of 2021 Michael Foster is set to announce his decision on Friday.

Foster is rated as a consensus 5-star forward in the Class of 2021, and is overall one of the most dominant overall players in the country. Foster has been rising up the ranks throughout his high school career, but his production in recent years has established himself as one of the top big men in the country.

Foster has shined for Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, AZ in recent years, leading the way for one of the best high school basketball teams in the country. While also playing against some of the best teams in the country, Foster averaged 31 PPG, 16 RPG, 4 APG, and 4 BPG at Hillcrest Prep during his senior season, while also being selected as a McDonald’s All-American.

Foster has all the making’s to become a double-double machine at the next level. At 6’9 and around 220 lbs., Foster has the ability to play any position in the frontcourt but is arguably his best at power forward. Foster displays explosiveness to dominate the paint on both ends and can get to the rim and finish with ease offensively, as well as stretch the floor to knock down shots from the perimeter.

While one could argue that Foster is a favorite to be the next high school star to play in the NBA’s G-League, Foster also includes Florida State and Georgia in his final three. Also considered as a lock to be a future first-round NBA Draft pick, Foster could certainly use another year of development, but will it come in the professional ranks or in college basketball?

Here is a breakdown of each of Foster’s final three options, along with potential fits, benefits with each, and what each team would look like with Foster next season.
