Experience

The senior is now on his third program and has had no shortages of big performances. Even as a freshman, Akinjo showed out against No. 16 Marquette. That Golden Eagles team was led by Markus Howard, alongside the two Hauser brothers.

He displayed his incredible three-point shooting and ball-handling in the process, against a quality opponent.

During the regular season against UCLA, Akinjo did not disappoint, scoring a combined 46 points on 14-30 from the field, 11 assists, and six rebounds.

Although not having the NCAA Tournament experience, Akinjo has been more than capable of being time performances. Akinjo is not the only one on the Baylor roster with a big performance over the Bruins as Flagler dropped 28 points, his freshman year at Presbyterian.

Baylor has youth within the backcourt, with Flagler and Cryer playing one year at Baylor while bringing in four-star guard Langston Love. Experience was a priority and Baylor hit the jackpot with Akinjo.

While being a floor general, Akinjo tended to hold on to the ball a little too long and have turnover worries, especially against Stanford, coughing it up 12 times in two games.

However, with more assets around him, Akinjo is more than equipped to facilitate, while also scoring at a high rate.

A lot of what rode Georgetown fans bizarre was Akinjo shooting himself out of the game, not passing the ball. Based off of his assists totals and his time at Arizona, it looks that may have changed.

The Bears have built a respectable program over the past 13 seasons and have been on a serious incline the previous five, being ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll, three of those seasons.

With the plethora of talented and returning coming in for Baylor, Akinjo gets a chance to play for a team littered with potential NBA draft picks.
