Providence Friars

Surprise surprise another east coast school in the mix for Clingan, Providence, like Georgetown were one of the first schools to offer Clingan and has been heavily involved in his recruiting process since the beginning.

Nate Watson had a good season for Providence last season and Clingan could duplicate that kind of success as a main focal point on the offensive end for the Friars. Ed Cooley has had some success in 2021 pulling in two three-star frontcourt players in Rafael Castro and Legend Geeter.

Providence has been another team in the mix since the start, another team that’s not a surprise to make the list.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Steve Pikiell is from Bristol himself and he and Clingan seem to have built a relationship during the recruiting process. Clingan had some high praise back in December for Myles Johnson complimenting his play.

The Scarlet Knights have been a program on the rise in recent years and Clingan could be a huge addition for them. Clingan would be able to step in and potentially play a big role. Rutgers has come a long way under Steve Pikiell and I expect that they’ll begin to make some headway on the recruiting trail as they try to establish themselves as a tournament team year in and year out.

Rutgers will face some stiff competition for the 2022 big man but a few years ago they probably wouldn’t have even made the final eight for someone like Clingan.
