SEC Basketball: 5 biggest storylines of 2021 offseason

The SEC Basketball offseason is already off to a crazy start. The transfer portal, top recruits, and NBA Draft prospects are only a small part of it, and the “craziness” hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
SEC Basketball during the 2020-21 season was full of surprises. Alabama took the league by storm to win the Regular Season and Tournament titles, Kentucky had one of the worst seasons in program history, and Arkansas took the next step becoming a title contender. Not only did these three things happen, but many other shocks and surprises happened during the 2020-21 season while some familiar things remained the same.
However, the offseason is now officially in full swing. Not only has the transfer portal been the main talking point of the college basketball offseason so far, but we’ve already seen it play a massive role in building roster’s next season.
We have also seen NBA Draft prospects begin to make decisions on whether they will or will not return next season as the Draft begins to loom closer and closer. This storyline will continue for the next couple of weeks at least, along with any other potential return’s being a prominent storyline of the offseason.
With that being said, here are five of the biggest storylines of the SEC Basketball offseason that should be the most prominent to keep a close eye on throughout the next couple of months.
