8. G Shakeel Moore – NC State Wolfpack

2020-21 stats: 6.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.7 apg

Despite being in a logjam of backcourt players this past season, the 6’1 guard still managed to have several big moments with the Wolfpack. Primarily off the bench, Moore had five games of double-digit scoring, including a season-high 19 points against Boston College.

He’s a good rebounder and capable passer as well and can play both on and off the ball. If given a larger role, Moore can certainly be a double-digit contributor for a power conference program. Depending on the spot, don’t be shocked if the former Wolfpack guard becomes a national breakout candidate.

7. G Alterique Gilbert – Wichita State Shockers

2020-21 stats: 10.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 4.1 apg

Set to play in his 6th year in NCAA Basketball, it’s great to see the injury bug away from Gilbert. While Tyson Etienne was the AAC Player of the Year, the senior Gilbert was the team’s leader in assists this past season and was a double-digit scorer for the third year in his career.

The 6’1 guard is a career 31% three-point shooter and hasn’t scored more than 12.6 ppg in a given season but he’s a proven starter and contributor at the power conference level and even back to his days at UConn, was a winner whenever he could stay on the court. Gilbert’s ceiling isn’t the highest but for teams needing a one-year guard to plug into a lineup and provide experience and leadership, this would be a great option.
