When Quincy Guerrier arrived at Syracuse Basketball over a year ago, there were plenty of expectations for the four-star freshman recruit, ranked just outside of the top-100 overall. The 6’7 forward was set to come off the bench, for a team where not many freshmen get big minutes.

However, Guerrier proved to be an impact player as a reserve, averaging 6.9 ppg and 5.3 rpg in 20 mpg. But after star forward and leading scorer Elijah Hughes departed off to the NBA, Guerrier was promoted to the starting lineup for this past season.

And the sophomore took advantage and had a breakout campaign. He averaged 13.7 ppg and a team-leading 8.4 rpg and was named on an All-ACC team. Guerrier had a fantastic start to the season, scoring at least 20 points on four different occasions, including a career-high 27 points in overtime against Buffalo. In the game prior, the forward went for 18 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Northeastern.

Guerrier had 10 games of double-digit rebounds and scored in double figures for 21 of the 28 games. The versatile frontcourt player was solid defensively and expanded his shooting as well, making 31% of his three-point attempts.

The Orange forward recently made the decision to enter the transfer portal, making him arguably the top available player in the market. Many power conference programs immediately reached out but in the end, only four made Guerrier’s final cut in Oregon, Illinois, Arizona State, and Memphis.

Here’s a closer look at how the now former Syracuse starter would potentially fit with each of the four contenders.
