NCAA Basketball: 2022 Top-5 G Keyonte George trims list to 5 teams

Oklahoma State Cowboys
Head coach Mike Boynton is doing a great job of building the Cowboys program and developing the players under his care. The signing of the #1 overall recruit in the 2020 class, Cade Cunningham, paid significant dividends for the program and roster as a whole last year. Despite inconsistencies due to injury throughout the season, Oklahoma State was still a significant presence in the Big 12 title race and resulted in the emergence of sophomores Avery Anderson and Kalib Boone.
Now that Cunningham is gone, Boynton has picked up where he left off by landing Kansas transfer and former 5-star guard Bryce Thompson. Coach Boynton’s process is helping to provide immediate depth and production while naturally allowing the roster to develop into productive future pieces. Furthermore, the emergence of Avery Anderson is beneficial for Boynton’s recruitment of George.
Specifically, Anderson and George are close friends and frequently talk about playing in college. The former has the potential to provide an inside roadmap to the latter regarding not only navigating the college selection process but also advocating for George to sign with the Cowboys and put together something special.
Getting George to Stillwater will assuredly grant him full control of the Oklahoma State program and be the next great guard to don the Cowboys uniform on their way to the NBA (i.e., Marcus Smart and Cunningham) from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
