Texas A&M Aggies

The Aggies already have a JUCO transfer this offseason with guard Aaron Johnson-Cash (Grayson CC) and now should be looking for a big man to compete against the talented frontcourt players all around the SEC. The current frontcourt setup for the team is former four-star prospect Javonte Brown, as well as Duke transfer Henry Coleman.

Neither player is very experienced to Curry certainly can come in and either start right away or have a clear rotational spot. Playing in the SEC can be a blessing and curse though, as Coach Buzz Williams will have no issue not playing him at all if he’s not up to the task. And with the seemingly revolving door and transfers coming in and out, it’s hard to access how good a roster fit this would be for Curry short and long term.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Former head coach Chris Beard had no problems going after transfers and his replacement, Mark Adams is willing to do the same thing. The team landed 6’7 forward Kealen Allen (East LA College) along with six other transfers. Four others are guards, while 6’11 forward Daniel Batcho will be looking for his first taste of NCAA Basketball after missing last season with an injury.

Texas Tech could certainly use Curry, having just Batcho and returning big man Marcus Santos-Silva in the frontcourt. Silva has been a starter in the last three years of his career but plays around 24 mpg at max. This would be a scenario where Curry plays behind him for 15-20 mpg off the bench next year, before becoming the starter himself in the next two seasons.

It would be a long-term play but Curry would get to stay in the Big 12, while also getting a couple of cracks at Kansas, where he can go face-to-face with McCormack and company.
