Boise State Broncos

The Broncos are bringing back a lot of upperclassmen for next season, including forward Abu Kigab, Emmanuel Akot, and Marcus Shaver. What they won’t have, however, is star guard Derrick Alston Jr., who averaged a team-leading 17.0 ppg last season. With freshman guard RayJ Dennis also now gone, there’s a void in the backcourt that the team would like to fill.

Adding Verge would effectively replace Alston, giving Boise State a lead guard that could be a Mountain West Player of the Year contender. The team was in the top-4 of the league standings and the other three teams are going to take a step back after losing so much talent. With so many seniors on next season’s roster, it’s an opportunity the Broncos need to take advantage of. They could do so if they can convince the transfer to pick them.

DePaul Blue Demons

Verge is from the Chicago area, which would make a few local programs potentially a viable option. That includes DePaul, who recently missed out on Milwaukee transfer Te’Jon Lucas to BYU. The current ball-handler options for the team include Oregon freshman transfer Jalen Terry and backup guard Markese Jacobs.

Verge would be the replacement for Charlie Moore, who averaged a team-leading 14.4 ppg and 4.2 rpg for the Blue Demons last season. He’d get a ton of playing time, get to play in the Big East, and play for a new head coach in Tony Stubblefield that’s already familiar with Verge when he was an assistant at Oregon.
