San Diego State Aztecs

The Aztecs have done a good job reloading the roster with transfers, including former Cal star Matt Bradley. Just about all positions were accounted for, except at lead guard. Terrell Gomez and Jordan Schakel are gone, leaving reserves Adam Seiko and Trey Pulliam to shoulder the load in extended minutes.

If he’s willing to play in the Mountain West, Verge would be a fantastic get. San Deigo State has a great history with Pac-12 transfers (Malachi Flynn) and can offer the former Sun Devil the keys to the offense. The Aztecs also have a winning culture to offer and plenty of minutes as well.

Wichita State Aztecs

Losing leading passer Alterique Gilbert is a blow but the Shockers are currently in flux with star guard and AAC Player of the Year Tyson Etienne in the NBA Draft waters. If he leaves, the team will be in huge need of a playmaker guard that can score at a high clip.

But even if Etienne does come back, he and Verge would be a nice pairing in Wichita State’s backcourt. It would rival even what Houston has on the perimeter and could be what keeps the Shockers on top in the conference. In the best-case scenario, this team could have the two best guards in the conference.
