As the calendar turns to June, the hype continues to build for the 2021-22 SEC Basketball season. This time of year, however, the “hype” seems to be a little different.

SEC Basketball is arguably currently better than it has ever been. The conference displays numerous NCAA Tournament caliber teams seemingly year-by-year now, while also bringing in countless top recruits and transfers.

That only got better this offseason with the widespread success that the league had in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Almost every SEC team brought in multiple highly-touted transfers this offseason making a majority of the conferences rosters’ among some of the deepest in recent memory.

Now as I mentioned previously, and as you obviously know by now, the calendar has officially flipped to June. This is significant for one simple reason: a majority, if not all, recruits and transfers are now officially on campus.

With this, we finally begin to see the first sneak peek or look at a few teams’ new rosters and players which is obviously exciting. With that also, we can finally begin to fully look at each team in particular, fully turn the page to next season, and begin to familiarize ourselves with new names and rosters. What better way than looking at a few players in particular, and how they might factor into the process for some of the SEC’s top individual honors?

So let’s do just that. Here are the still way-too-early predictions for the SEC Basketball award winners for the 2021-22 season, which include both familiar names and new faces.
