Duke Basketball: 10 best players ever from the Mike Krzyzewski era
8. J.J. Redick
J.J. Redick may be one of the most legendary players to ever wear a Duke uniform. He broke many program and collegiate records during his career at Duke. He was a point scorer and even had 36 double-figure games in a season which is tied for fifth-most in Duke history.
In his first season, Redick led the Blue Devils to a win over NC State in the ACC Tournament Championship game with 30 points.
Redick served as a co-captain and captain of the Blue Devils his junior and senior seasons.
He would break Curtis Staples’s NCAA record of career three-pointers made in a game against Wake Forest. Redick went on to finish his career with an NCAA-record 457 three-point field goals.
In the game after breaking Staples’ record, he became the all-time leading scorer at Duke, with 2,557 points scored in his collegiate career.
On February 4, 2007, Redick became the 13th Duke player to have his jersey (No. 4) retired at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
