Alabama Basketball: 10 greatest Crimson Tide players since 2010
By Matt Melton
As Alabama Basketball turned in a phenomenal 2020-21 season in year two under Nate Oats, it was clear that the Crimson Tide had a bright future ahead of them. While this is true, Alabama has also had a strong recent past as well.
Now while this recent past might not have had as much winning as Alabama Basketball fans may have hoped for, we have seen some special players wear the Crimson and White over the past ten years.
Looking back at the previous decade or so, Alabama has been up and down at times over that span. Entering the 2010’s with new head coach Anthony Grant, the Crimson Tide were coming off a decade with former head coach Mark Gottfried where they made five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2001-05.
Alabama would go on to make one NCAA appearance under Grant during the 2011-12 season, before Avery Johnson took over in 2015 leading the Crimson Tide to one NCAA appearance in 2017. As you know by now, Oats took over for Johnson in 2019, and lead Alabama to the Sweet 16 this past season.
While the Crimson Tide have not necessarily put up the wanted results, there has 100% been no shortage of phenomenal talent. Alabama has landed four 5-star recruits since 2010, as well as numerous players that have been named to all-conference teams, Players of the Year, and more.
As you will see, this group of players are loaded with talent, and at the rate that the Crimson Tide appear to be going under Oats currently, there may be a lot more joining this group in the very near future.
Here are the 10 greatest Alabama Basketball players since 2010.
