NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Ranking top 10 options for 5-star Chris Livingston
Among the positions for the 2022 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, small forward may be the most competitive at the top. No. 1 overall prospect Emoni Bates is the biggest name of course, but there are six other players at that same position listed as a five-star, according to 247sportsComposite. One of them is Chris Livingston, ranked in the top-10 overall and No. 4 in the class.
The Akron, Ohio native is a true wing, listed at 6’6 and 200 pounds. He’s an outstanding pure athlete and capable scorer, along with being a good defender. Livingston averaged over 30 ppg and 15 rpg as a junior in high school and was dominant against a similar level of competition at the AAU circuit. He’s the kind of player that would be a near-safe bet to succeed at the college level no matter where he ends up.
Although, there’s a possibility that Livingston will end up going pro instead. Among his reported 11 options, the Overtime Elite League has emerged as well. A brand new league that offers 6-7 figure compensation for players right out of high school. Already Overtime Elite has landed top-35 twin guards, Ausar and Amen Thompson for the inaugural season.
If Overtime Elite doesn’t win over Livingston and he does play for an NCAA Basketball program, there are 10 others that are in the mix. So far, Kansas and Kentucky have landed official visits this month and other teams will likely get ones as well.
There’s a lot that will happen in this recruitment and it’s still in the beginning stages. Here’s a look at how the programs rank in terms of being the best potential fits.
