NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Ranking top 10 options for 5-star Chris Livingston
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tide has a ton of talent on next season’s roster, including incoming five-star prospects JD Davison and Charles Bediako. There’s also 6’6 wing and four-star freshman Jusaun Holt, who is the only natural small forward they have at the moment. It won’t matter much, as Alabama has a ton of quality guards and can run three-guard lineups next season. However, many of them will likely be gone, so they’ll need to bolster the depth at the wing to balance out the lineup.
The Crimson Tide under Nate Oats has been one of the top offensive teams in NCAA Basketball and Livingston can come right in and average 20 ppg as a freshman, while also showcasing his skills for a top-15 team in the SEC. With a clear pathway towards uncontested playing time as well as a great system to spend a year at, this may be an under-the-radar choice that could be around throughout his recruitment.
1. Kentucky Wildcats
The Wildcats do have a couple of talented small forwards on the roster in Dontaie Allen and Keion Brooks Jr. but both of them have their flaws, either on one end or another. Livingston would come in and be the undisputed starter at the small forward spot and depending on who else joins could be the leading scorer for this blue blood program.
Kentucky may be using more transfers than just top-50 prospects out of high school each season but there’s no question about this program’s success rate with top-tier recruits and how they end up in the NBA. Livingston would be a star for the Wildcats on Day 1 and paired with top-10 point guard Skyy Clark and potentially center Jalen Duren, could be playing for a national title contender.
