NCAA Basketball: Alonzo Verge, Tre Mitchell among top available transfers
14. G Ahmed Ali – Portland Pilots
2020-21 stats: 18.2 ppg and 3.1 apg
Ali had a great statistical year for the Pilots but the team was dreadful overall, with just three D-I wins on the season and ended the year on a 13-game losing streak. Ali did have some big scoring outings, including a season-high 32 points against San Diego. Assuming he doesn’t go pro in the end, Ali would be a nice rotational piece in any backcourt and can be instant offense off the bench.
13. G Troymain Crosby – Alcorn State Braves
2020-21 stats: 19.1 ppg and 5.4 rpg
The two-time All-SWAC performer had a breakout campaign in 15 games, with eight of them going for at least 20 points. Despite only making eight three-pointers on the year, Crosby was very efficient from the field overall and got to the free throw at a high rate. His lack of shooting may be a concern at the power conference level but there are plenty of mid-major programs that could use Crosby’s services.
12. F Tyrn Flowers – LIU Brooklyn Sharks
2020-21 stats: 17.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg and 3.6 apg
The 6’9 forward was an all-conference performer in all three years after transferring from UMass. Flowers was a top rebounder and developed into a top-tier scorer, including six games where he racked up at least six assists in a game. He was a double-figure scorer in all but one game this past season and if he comes back to college could be an impactful transfer.
