We have another top-100 overall prospect in the 2022 NCAA Basketball recruiting class with an update in Justin Taylor, who reportedly announced a top-5 list of options for his college destination.

The 6’6 and 200-pound wing hails from Charlottesville, Virginia is an outstanding shooter and solid athlete, capable of defending well at the small forward position. Taylor’s size benefits him on the offensive end as he can get his shot up without much issue and projects to be a future starter at the power conference level.

The four-star wing’s shooting alone makes him a good piece to build on for the team’s respective 2022 recruiting classes. And that includes the two local ACC programs in Virginia and Virginia Tech, along with the three others that Taylor recently took official visits to in Syracuse, North Carolina, and Indiana.

With a potential decision coming in a few days, here’s a look at how Taylor would fit with the five finalists.

Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers had lost two players this offseason to the portal that were playing at the small forward position in Jerome Hunter and sharpshooter Armaan Franklin. They did get a good pickup in Miller Kopp, a transfer from Northwestern that’ll only be around for one season. The team already has four-star shooting guard CJ Gunn committed in the 2022 class but adding a true wing that can space the floor is a current need, along with adding frontcourt talent.

Adding Taylor would effectively allow the coaching staff to focus exclusively on the frontcourt for the next eight months on the recruiting trail. Playing for a new head coach in Mike Woodson is a risk for Taylor compared to a more proven local option but the allure of playing and help rebuilding such as prestigious program can be a big selling point.
