Baylor Bears

The reigning national champions did lose a good amount of talent this offseason in the backcourt and big man Mark Vital but between key transfer James Akinjo and a top-15 recruiting class, the Bears should be contention for a possible Final Four run next season too. With the program being in the ultimate spotlight right now, they might as well put their name in the running for the top available transfer in the market.

The frontcourt for Baylor currently consists of Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, Dain Dainja, Flo Thamba, and stretch forward Matthew Mayer. Garcia would give them a consistent scoring option at center and he and Mayer would work perfectly on the court together. And considering how Davion Mitchell went from undrafted to a likely top-10 pick in the draft after transferring to the Bears, Garcia could do the same and get himself into a similar situation.

Florida State Seminoles

The Seminoles do already have a fair amount of depth at center for next season, including  Naheem McLeod, Tanor Ngom, and incoming top-60 prospect John Butler. However, that hasn’t stopped them from targeting a number of big men this offseason, including most recently, Tre Mitchell.

None of those previously mentioned big men are proven offensive talents and after losing the team’s top four scorers from last season, adding a proven double-digit contributor such as Garcia takes the pressure off the guards from having to do too much. The concern here is that Garcia wouldn’t play 27 mpg at Florida State due to the depth but considering how many players have recently ended up in the NBA from here, this option could pay dividends.
