As a highly-touted prospect, Keion ended choosing Kentucky

Keion was always playing something as a kid. If he wasn’t on the court, you could find the Indiana native on the gridiron, the diamond, or even the pitch. The 6-7 Brooks, Jr. would eventually decide that the basketball court was where he wanted to be, just like his dad. In fact, the No. 12 that he dons as a Wildcat pays homage to his dad who wore that number in high school.

Keion said there wasn’t a moment when he decided on basketball, it was more about a dream, “Being young I just always had a dream of playing at a big university, playing in the tournament and winning big games.”

Coming out of La Lumiere, he was a consensus top-40 recruit nationally, no matter which scouting service you looked at. I asked him what the recruiting process was like for him as such a highly sought-after target, “It was hectic but also an enjoyable experience. Meeting a lot of the coaches and visiting a lot of the schools, it was humbling to go through that experience. It was fun.”

Among all those schools he decided to join Big Blue Nation to live out his dream.  He said, “What sealed the deal for me at Kentucky is (that) I saw the work they put in every day to get to where they need to go. The coaches spend a lot of extra time with the players.”
