On Colin Smith’s list are Arizona State, Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Stanford, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Virginia. The 6’8” wing has steadily risen in the rankings over the last two years for St. Mark’s (TX) and grassroots team Southern Assault. Smith’s versatility in the time has only continued to increase in that time making him one of the more intriguing pieces remaining on the board.

While his list contains a strong contingent of power programs throughout the country, it is notable that North Carolina and Purdue have been excluded. In an interview with Brandon Jenkins of 247sports.com recently, Smith noted that both the Tar Heels and Boilermakers were potential campuses he wanted to visit or re-visit as campus trips were beginning to occur again.

The exclusions are likely related to the staff changes at both schools, however, Smith did detail academics would play a significant part in his final decision of the programs still in the running for his commitment.

Despite his junior season being significantly shortened, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Smith has continued to develop at a high rate. The incoming senior has come out of the gate this summer firing on all cylinders and showcased his overall game as an efficient and dangerous 3-level scorer. Smith’s combination of size and shooting touch make him a very desirable asset for each of the remaining programs. Here’s how I would rank his potential list of remaining suitors.
