3. Winner – Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks roster went through many hypothetical twists and turns, due to multiple transfers and players entering the NBA Draft process. Three players on the roster (Jalen Wilson, David McCormack, and Ochai Agbaji) were involved, with junior guard Agbaji considered a good bet to leave. And then there’s Remy Martin, a 20 ppg scorer from Arizona State who entered the NBA Draft, then the transfer portal, then picked Kansas, while still staying in the process.

In the end, Martin, along with the rest of the Jayhawks in question, all decided to come to NCAA Basketball, making this team potentially the team to beat in the Big 12 next season. That makes senior point guard Marcus Garrett the only key departure, replaced by incoming guards Joseph Yesufu and Jalen Coleman-Lands. This is a likely top-5 team for next season, having won out on all of its big decisions.

3. Loser – Ohio State Buckeyes

There were two huge decisions regarding a pair of All-Big Ten performers in Duane Washington Jr. and EJ Liddell. Had they both came back, an argument could be made that Ohio State would have a top-5 preseason team and be the favorite to win the conference next season.

In the end, the forward Lidell came back, while Washington, who led the team with 16.4 ppg this past season, elected to move on. This one hurts the Buckeyes, as they lose their lone proven offensive weapon on the team. There’s now a ton of pressure on top-30 freshman Malaki Branham to have an impact next season, along with Liddell producing even more.
