Cade Cunningham could make Oklahoma State Basketball history.

By all accounts, Oklahoma State Mr. Everything Cade Cunningham is expected to be the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2021 NBA draft, and for good reason. If the Detroit Pistons do indeed take the 6-8, 19-year-old with the first selection, it will be the first time ever that an OSU Cowboy has ever been selected that high.

Cunningham, who had an excellent NBA combine, was everything that Oklahoma State could have hoped for this year. He tallied 24 points, five steals, and four rebounds along with three assists in OSU’s 80-70 setback to Oregon State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Arlington (TX) native averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 43.8% from the field as well as 40% from beyond the arc.  Cunningham

The Cowboys have had 36 players taken in the NBA draft, although just three players have been chosen in the top-10 picks — Joe Bradley (1950), Bryant Reeves (1995), and Marcus Smart (2014). In fact, Oklahoma State has not had a player selected by an NBA team since the Philadelphia 76ers tabbed Juwan Evans with the 39th pick of the 2017 draft.

Here is a ranking of top-5 and biggest bust draft choices in Oklahoma State history.
