No. 19 – St. Bonaventure Bonnies

It’s been a boring, yet successful offseason for St. Bonaventure. They did lose a lot of players to the transfer portal but the combined amount of production wasn’t much, as the top player gone averaged just 5.3 rpg last season. The good news is that all five starters, who each averaged double figures in scoring, will be back for their respective senior campaigns.

None of them ventured into the NBA Draft process, including star guard Kyle Lofton. He led the Bonnies with 14.4 ppg and 5.5 apg and was one of the best guards in all of the Atlantic 10. Neither did center Osun Osunniyi, who nearly averaged a double-double and is the reigning Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Between those two are a trio of versatile guards in Jalen Adaway, Jaren Holmes, and Dominick Welch, all of whom scored over 11 ppg and 5.0 rpg this past season. They can shoot and pass the ball while defending at a quality level.

As good as the starting is and will be, St. Bonaventure also added some key pieces off the bench. Pittsburgh transfer forward Abdoul Karim Coulibaly and Wake Forest guard Quadry Adams are arguably upgrading from what they had last season, while Junior College transfers Linton Brown and Oluwasegun Durosinmi adds even more depth off the bench.

This is a team with an incredibly high floor and making the NCAA Tournament should be the minimum for the Bonnies. And while most teams can claim “experience” thanks to the extra year given by the NCAA, very few will have five true seniors in their starting lineups.
