NBA Draft 2021: 5 trades that could potentially happen on draft night
By William Cash
With the lottery past, the 2021 NBA Draft order has been decided. The Detroit Pistons were awarded the No. 1 pick and presumably Cade Cunningham we think.
As ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that, Cunningham is not a lock to go No. 1, and the Pistons are exploring trading out of the top spot.
This is very questionable and surprising by Detroit, who has a chance to grab a generational talent. While I think it’s very unlikely the pick will be traded, the speculation will make tensions high on draft night.
The Houston Rockets were awarded the No. 2 pick, followed by the Cleveland Cavaliers at No. 3, then the Toronto Raptors at No. 4, and finally the Orlando Magic at No. 5.
We have an idea of who will be picked 2-4, but the order it will go in is uncertain. As it is also reported that the Cavaliers, Rockets, and the Warriors who are picking at No. 7 and No. 12 are looking to trade up.
If you are interested in who I have going at each pick from 1-30, here is my latest mock draft here.
As we move closer to the date of the draft. Some blockbuster trades will happen, and some minor ones will. Here are five potential trades that I think could happen on draft night.
