How This Helps the Pistons
The Pistons are in a rebuild for the foreseeable future. They do not have much of a young core besides last year’s lottery pick Killian Hayes and whoever they decide to take with the #1 pick.
In an effort to get more young players. Detroit strikes a deal with the Wizards to capitalize on Grant’s breakout season and add more young pieces to surround the presumptive number one pick in Cade Cunningham.
Getting the 15th pick here would allow the Pistons to get more lottery talent on their roster and capitalize on Grant’s outstanding season.
How This Helps the Wizards
With Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal still in the primes of their career. Washington is desperately looking to surround their two superstars with talent. Grant had a breakout season last year averaging 22 points, four rebounds, and two assists on 42% from the field.
Now Grant could have been a victim of being on a terrible team in Detroit. But if Grant is for real. Then Washington gets a solid third option who can put the ball in the basket.
