Vrenz Bleijenbergh does not get nearly the amount of draft buzz as he deserves.

Bleijenbergh is a 6’10 forward who can handle the ball and run an offense. While his shooting percentages may not have jumped off the stat sheet, he has shown a willingness to pull from deep and his mechanics are sound. With reps, his shot should become a positive part of his game.

The 20-year-old Belgian declared for the draft on June 1, and ESPN currently has Bleijenbergh ranked as their 72nd overall prospect, which would mean he would not be drafted. Bleijenergh absolutely deserves to be selected on July 29, due to his unique blend of size, skill, and shooting ability. While scouts may worry about his percentages, they should remember that he is only 20 years old and has lots of time to develop into a quality player.

With a player like Bleijenbergh, his skill set pops off the tape. He has a high basketball IQ, moves well for his size, and the upside with him is tremendous. He’s well worth taking a shot on in the second round due to his high ceiling and uncommon playmaking ability, and whatever team takes a flyer on him will be glad they did.
