NBA Draft 2021: Biggest needs for all 30 teams ahead of draft day
With the deadline for college basketball players to withdraw from the upcoming NBA Draft, we’re now just less than a week away from draft night on July 29th. It’s been one of the more anticipated group of incoming NBA rookies in a while, featuring some superstars from March Madness, as well as potential generational talent.
It’s been a crazy season overall for the NBA, as the shortened schedule has affected many teams that went far a year ago in the last postseason. Teams who made it to the Eastern and Western Conference Finals previously (Boston, Miami, Denver, and Los Angeles Lakers), didn’t win a single game past the 1st round this season.
The crazy thing is that just a couple of days ago, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns to win their first NBA title since 1971. The schedule will get back to normal next season, with the draft occurring in June but we’ll get a good look at this year’s pro prospects in the Summer League, set to return in August after being canceled last Summer due to the pandemic.

Here’s a look at what positions of need will be for each franchise, including those that currently don’t even possess a pick. This will change depending on free-agent strategy and future trades involving picks but for now, here’s what each team needs to focus on.
