Chicago Bulls – No. 38

Biggest need: Backup guard

With Orlando taking their first-round pick in the Nikola Vučević trade, the Bulls will have to wait until the second round this year. They won’t need a big man, although Lauri Markkanen is probably on the hot seat in the rotation. But with Thaddeus Young and former top-10 pick Patrick Williams around, the focus should be on adding a guard behind All-star guard Zach LaVine and Coby White.

Chicago could use an upgrade behind Tomáš Satoranský and Garrett Temple in the backcourt. A combo guard such as Joel Ayayi from Gonzaga or McKinley Wright of Colorado. This is a team that is in a “win-now” position with LaVine and Vučević on board so they have to make this pick count and add to the rotation or else they may have to blow it up and start over.

Cleveland Cavaliers – No. 3

Biggest need: Forward, guard

With just one pick, the Cavaliers will need to get a franchise-caliber player either in the frontcourt or backcourt. They have two major decisions to make between paying scoring guard Collin Sexton and center Jarrett Allen, who they got in a trade with Brooklyn. Whoever they want to keep will likely influence their upcoming draft selection.

If Sexton is gone in a potential trade, then top-5 prospect Jalen Green likely is the answer. If he stays and Allen is gone, then Evan Mobley of USC is the best option, especially if veteran Kevin Love isn’t long for Cleveland either. Either way, this team is trying to keep all options open without having too many long-term contracts. Who Houston takes at 2 will also have a huge impact here as well.
