NCAA Basketball: How Keyonte George can impact each team in his top 5
By Andrew Tineo
Kansas Jayhawks
Bill Self and his long lineage of elite guard play set up well for George in Lawrence. The Jayhawks are expected to have a bounce-back year in 2021-22 but have key players leaving following the conclusion of the season.
Ochai Agbaji and Remy Martin are both seniors, and expected to start next season, depending on the rotations Self will use.
George coming in and being a starter at a blue-blood program is intriguing for any player, let alone someone of George’s caliber.
Kansas currently has the seventh-best class in 2022, with four-star small forward Gradey Dick and four-star power forward Zuby Ejiofor, who committed on July, 1.
The Jayhawks added top 100 guards Bobby Pettiford and Kyle Cuffe with their last class, and are expected to be projects for a few seasons.
Getting those two, combined with George can make an elite-level backcourt come the beginning of the 2022 season.
Christian Braun might return, with two full seasons of eligibility left and the Jayhawks rotation will always have elite-level players at the majority of positions.
George’s chances to win and win often might have its greatest likelihood in Lawrence. The chances of him committing to the Jayhawks are not quite as high.
