NCAA Basketball: How Keyonte George can impact each team in his top 5
By Andrew Tineo
Kentucky Wildcats
The least likely candidate of acquiring George, Kentucky brings a presence, especially with the history of guards, just over the past decade. Devin Booker, the Harrison twins, even back to John Wall in 2009.
Calipari has shored up the point guard position over the next few seasons, by grabbing five-star point guard TyTy Washington in the 2021 class. Prior to that, Calipari jumpstarted the 2022 class, with five-star point guard Skyy Clark, who is currently ranked the No.3 point guard in the country.
Adding George would continue the legacy of top-ranked point guards joining the program and continue the Calipari formula.
This upcoming season’s team will be different from the others, with transfers like West Virginia center Oscar Tshiebwe, Georgia point guard Sahvir Wheeler, and Iowa guard CJ Frederick making up the experience in Lexington.
How the Wildcats roster will look is a mystery during every off-season, with one-and-done players, or transfers from the program.
Kentucky has the resources and the history to grab any top ten player in any class. The chance of the Wildcats getting George out of the state of Texas and the longest distance away from home makes the Wildcats handicapped with their chances.
Never say never, and George could shock the country and make the switch to the blue and white.
