The job that Mike Boynton has done in Stillwater cannot go unnoticed. Although the 2021 class was not as talented as 2020, the seeds for the team Boynton wants began being planted last season.

The Cowboys have a young core of talented players all over the court, headlined by Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe, the Boone brothers, and Rondel Walker. The Cowboys also picked up former five-star guard Bryce Thompson from Kansas, who will have three years of eligibility.

Boynton has proven he can recruit, with the 2020 class, and being in the race for George is another sign of massive improvement for Oklahoma State, as well as, an advertisement for their program.

George has the ability to take over games, alongside using his ball-handling, to get around defenders and speed, to get to the rim.

That’s an ability Cunningham was able to use last year while being the primary scorer in most games.

With the core Boynton has at Oklahoma State, inserting George could make the 2022-2023 Cowboys a dark horse to win the conference.

The last visit is an important one and George’s last visit was in Stillwater. That bodes well for the Cowboys, as that’s the last impression he’ll have, before making his decision. Oklahoma State makes a late push with the visit, but unsure if it’s enough.
