Oklahoma State Cowboys

In the same way that moving to the SEC could help Oklahoma on the recruiting trail, the hit that the Big 12 Conference overall is about to take with both the Sooners and Texas Longhorns leaving could negatively affect a team like Oklahoma State. But for now, the basketball program is in good shape overall, coming off a successful campaign with No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Cade Cunningham, as well as landing former five-star recruits Bryce Thompson and Moussa Cisse this offseason.

With Avery Anderson as a pro candidate and Isaac Likekele set to graduate after next season, the Cowboys could certainly use another guard with a great scoring punch. Coach Mike Boynton has proven to be a good recruiter and head coach but without any connections, it may be hard to convince Sharpe to come to Stillwater over many of these other options, especially if the Big 12 itself is in question.

Oregon Ducks

Head coach Dana Altman and the Ducks did a good job rebuilding the backcourt this offseason, adding grad transfer Jacob Young, as well as De’Vion Harmon and Rivaldo Soares. But they’re also focusing on the 2022 class to make sure they don’t have to scramble in the portal next offseason, already having the commitment of top-10 overall prospect Dior Johnson, one of the top point guards in the recruiting class.

A backcourt combination of Johnson and Sharpe would be not only the best in the Pac-12 but potentially in the country. Oregon is one of the best programs out west and would be a great option if Sharpe wanted to stay out west. After seeing Chris Duarte get picked in the first round of the recent NBA Draft, the Ducks have another selling point for guard prospects like Sharpe to consider.
