6. LSU Tigers

The departure of Seneca Knight opens up the wing spot for future small forward prospects. However, the Tigers already have a top-100 wing committed for the class in Devin Ree, a 6’8 forward from Terry, Mississippi. He and top-50 shooting guard Justice Williams is a solid duo in the class but they’ll be after a forward and point guard to round things out.

The issue here is that not only would Billups have to deal with fellow freshman wing Ree but head coach Will Wade could very well land other top-100 talents in the class, as well as transfers. He landed several transfers this offseason, including Adam Miller and Xavier Pinson and Billups could very well end up towards the end of the bench at LSU.

5. Oklahoma State Cowboys

This is an interesting spot in that the Cowboys don’t really have a traditional wing on the roster. They do have plenty of versatile guards, including Isaac Likelele, Avery Anderson, and Kansas transfer Bryce Thompson. Although 6’7 sophomore Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe is capable of playing at the three-spot, having a natural such as Billups would be a boost for the future roster.

After the success of No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Cade Cunningham, Oklahoma State is looking to build a major 2022 class, featuring top-30 targets, Anthony Black, Rodney Rice, and Nick Smith Jr. The program hasn’t landed any 2022 commits yet and that creates some uncertainly for Billups, as he could end up behind a top-tier recruit in the same position, or another transfer next offseason.
