4. Seton Hall Pirates

The Pirates have a top-50 commit in Jaquan Harris in the 2022 class and are looking for a couple of other top-100 prospects to keep up with the top of the Big East. But they’ll have to get past the potential challenges of distance compared to the local competitors, while also a potential logjam at the power forward spot.

South Florida transfer Alexis Yetna has two years left available in college and if healthy is a lock to be a starter. And there’s Tray Jackson and Tyrese Samuel, two frontcourt players that should get minutes both this and next year. With plenty of more local targets still on the board and in consideration, look for Seton Hall to not be as aggressive here, although there’s a good enough history of development with Coach Kevin Willard’s staff to warrant a look.

3. Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers already have a power forward commit in the 2022 class in Kaleb Banks, a 6’8 forward from Georgia. He’s currently ranked in the top-150 and could reach four-star status himself with a good high school senior season. But they can still take in another power forward such as Reneau since they aren’t the same player. But neither can truly play the center position in the Big Ten unless they bulk up, so there will be competition for minutes.

Assuming that Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson depart after next season, there’s plenty of room in the frontcourt for Reneau to come in and have an early impact, for a nationally relevant program. The only concern is that we’ve yet to see how new head coach Mike Woodson operates at the college game. It could work well and be a premier destination for recruits or things could go rough, which has happened before with former NBA head coaches.
