When it comes to “true” point guards in the 2022 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, there are four players currently given a five-star rank (according to 247sportsComposite). Three of them are Dior Johnson (Oregon), Skyy Clark (Kentucky), and Bruce Thornton (Ohio State), all of whom are currently committed to their respective schools.

The one who isn’t right now is Jaden Bradley, a consensus top-20 overall prospect originally from Concord, North Carolina. He’s a pass-first playmaker and arguably the best floor general in the class, able to make his teammates better and affect the game in many ways. Bradley is the kind of player that won’t dominate with 20+ scoring games but can rack up assists and is a two-way contributor.

And as the best available point guard in the class, the recruitment for Bradley has been hot over the past couple of months. There was a thought that the five-star guard would end up staying in the state of North Carolina, as both Duke and UNC were after him. However, the latest development has shuttered that idea.

With those two out of the picture, we now have five programs that are used to landing five-star prospects. But which of them has the best chance to get Bradley? Here’s a look at how he’d fit with each of the contenders.

Under head coach Nate Oats, Alabama point guards have been thriving. Guards in general really, as Joshua Primo just went in the lottery of the 2021 NBA Draft. Kira Lewis was also a first-rounder and so can incoming five-star freshman JD Davison.

There’s a chance that both Davison and junior point guard Jahvon Quinerly go pro after next season but even if just one returns, Bradley could still join the Crimson Tide and they can run a two-point guard offense. The only downside to that is Bradley would have to share the lead guard duties instead of being the clear-cut initiator of the offense.
