When it comes to frontcourt players in the 2022 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, there are two that come to mind when it comes to the biggest stock risers of the Summer. One is Dereck Lively, considered to be the best overall center in the class and a consensus top-5 prospect. The other now is Yohan Traore, who has gone from top-100 to potentially top-10 in a matter of months.

Traore is originally from France and came over just recently, now residing on the west coast. As soon as he got in front of scouts on the AAU circuit, his massive potential was noticed. At 6’10 and 220 pounds, the French big is capable of playing both the power forward and center positions and is a two-way prospect. Traore is a shot-blocker and rim protector, while also comfortable being out on the perimeter to deal with guards.

His offense is currently mostly dunks and putbacks but Traore can shoot the ball a bit, extending his range to around 15 feet. That’ll be important if he’s going to play at the four-spot. The athleticism and raw potential puts him around five-star status, although recruiting services currently differ on where Traore stands in the top-100.

But that doesn’t matter to power conference programs looking for a big man, as we now know nine that are in the running to land Traore. The one pro option is the NBL (Australian professional league) a past destination for a number of players looking to get paid before entering the NBA Draft.

Assuming Traore does indeed stay in college, here’s how I view his potential landing spots.
