It’s never too early to look at the class of 2023 NCAA Basketball recruiting group, as several players are potentially making early decisions for their college destinations. One of those guys is  Kaleb Glenn, a 6’6 small forward prospect out of Louisville, Kentucky.

He’s a really good rebounder for his size, averaging a double-double in his first two years of high school. Gleen is a capable shooter and can score just about anywhere on the court. He’s a consensus four-star prospect and 247sportsComposite has him in the top-50 for the entire 2023 class.

We now know the four programs reportedly in the running to land Glenn, as Louisville, Indiana, Texas A&M, and Tennessee have made the cut. It’s very early in the process but for now, let’s take a look at how Gleen would potentially fit with each option.

Indiana Hoosiers

It’s been an impressive summer for new Hoosiers head coach Mike Woodson, landing key transfers, and class of 2022 targets, including most recently, top-30 combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino. There also is three-wing small forward Kaleb Banks who joined the 2022 class too.

Although there are some questions about Coach Woodson in the NCAA Basketball game, Indiana’s momentum is at an all-time high and the historical prestige may be too much to pass up. And depending on who else they bring in, Glenn could start as a freshman too.

Louisville Cardinals

Head coach Chris Mack is going through it right now, suspended for the first six games of the season due to the issues involving former assistant Dino Gaudio. His seat may not be hot right now but it’s a long ways away until 2023 and if the team doesn’t make the NCAA Tournament, could be in real trouble.

There’s also the fact that the wing position is fairly covered for the time being. Besides starter  Samuell Williamson, Louisville also has four-star freshman forward Michael James, along with class of 2022 commit D’Ante Davis. All that being said, as the hometown program, it may not matter who the coach is or who else is on the roster if Glenn truly wants to join and commit early.

Tennessee Volunteers

The Vols are flying high on the recruiting trail, landing top-50 prospects as good as even Kentucky at this point. It’s not surprising that they’ve become very attractive for regional prospects such as Glenn and they have plenty of available playing time at the wing spot.

Assuming Josiah Jordan-James will have moved on by 2023, there’s only incoming top-50 wing  Jahmai Mashack, who has the potential to go early to the NBA Draft. If Glenn commits early and solidifies his spot, Tennessee may not need to worry about another small forward for a while.

Texas A&M Aggies

The revamped roster features a lot of guards and a couple of forwards, with Duke transfer Henry Coleman and Wyoming guard Marcus Williams the most notable. But an interesting observation is that this team doesn’t truly have a wing on the current roster, as they’re set to run a ton of three-guard lineups for 2021-22.

Assuming head coach Buzz Williams (also suspended for first two games of the season) is still around by then, Texas A&M may offer the most immediate playing time options for Glenn. But at the same time, they may not offer the best chance of making the NCAA Tournament of the four.
