Duke adds another recruit to the 2022 class

The Duke Blue Devils got their third recruit from the class of 2022, with 4-star guard Jaden Schutt committing to coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer on Thursday. Schutt chose Duke over Michigan State, Iowa, Creighton, and others.

"“They just made me feel like a priority, Schutt told Travis Branham of 247Sports. They didn’t really pressure me during the recruiting process, it didn’t really feel like I was being recruited at all. It was just talking to the coaches, and it felt comfortable. It was all very genuine. I believe in coach [Jon] Scheyer, his staff, and their ability to help me grow as a player and as a person.”"

The 6-5 Yorkville (Ill.) native is a fantastic shooter who can knock down jumpers off the dribble, catch, and while on the move. He also possesses a high basketball IQ, has the ability to score at every level, and defends well, according to Rick Carter — Schutt’s trainer.

Schutt is ranked as the 90th best prospect in the class by 247Sports and 107th by 247 Sports. ESPN has him rated No.47 while Rivals lists him at No. 82.

While it is still early, Duke’s 2022 is considered the fifth-best in the nation by 247Sports. The Blue Devils also have received commitments from 5-star wing Dariq Whitehead and 5-star center Kyle Filipowski.
